Jammie Time

Chris was soooo lucky to have TWO of his friends over yesterday! It was a dream come true for a mom of an only child. I always imagined having lots of kids running in and out but in our neighborhood it didn't work out that way for Chris. No boys his age... so when we actually have more than one friend over, it's a party!

While the boys ware whooping it up I stayed out of eyesight (but in earshot) and worked on this doll quilt for Gracie! The fabrics are left over from a small quilt I made for her 3rd birthday last year. Now her doll has one too!

The pajamas will be for her too, except I have to make another shirt, this one goes with pink bottoms I had made for my doll! Once the new shirt is made with a purple Hello Kitty Gracie's new American Girl doll will have a good start on her wardrobe!

I'm in crunch time to make the rest of Gracie's doll clothes! Today I knocked this one out!

Don't forget you can click on the picture to see the fabric close up!

What's next? An Asian style contemporary dress that resembles one on the AG site... wish me luck, I'm going in without an actual pattern!

Doll Clothes for Gracie

Chris and I had our first official pajama day today. Don't ask me why, but I was up at the crack of dawn and couldn't get back to sleep. Chris ended up setting a record and slept until 9:00! Of course.... (sarcasm intended)

So, I ended up starting my next project. Doll clothes for Gracie! What fun! I know, I know, I can hear my Mom right now, saying, "You still haven't' hemmed the curtains in the nursery and the bird house lamp is still not finished!" But Gracie's 4th birthday is next month and she is going to be getting her very first
American Girl Doll! Shhhhh.... it's a secret!! The nursery can obviously wait a month! I think I have a little time!

Those of you who know me in the 'real' world, know I can't pass up anything AG!!!! I've been to the Chicago store three times and own 2 of my own dolls. Not to mention the trunk load of clothes I have made or snatched up on clearance! I have enticed all the girls in my neighborhood to jump on the AG bandwagon with me! I have been known to have the girls over to play dolls... YES! I NEED A DAUGHTER!!!

P.S. Oh yeah, JT I hemmed your slip! Did that first!

Anyway... here is outfit #1:
Shimmer Swimmer!
